The Pristine Crayfish (Cambarus pristinus) is a small freshwater crustacean that is known to occur only in Tennessee, in 19 streams in Cumberland, Van Buren, White, and Bledsoe counties. It generally lives under rocks in streams on the Plateau. Because of its restricted range and rarity, the Pristine Crayfish is included on the CHCP covered species list so we can protect it in the future.
