HCP DOCUMENT - MEETING MATERIALS
Through the Northern Cumberlands Forest Resources HCP (FRHCP), the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) is working to ensure that their forest management activities provide for the conservation and management of threatened, endangered, and rare species. Specifically, TWRA is applying for an HCP to cover timber harvesting, road construction and maintenance, and prescribed burning in the following Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs):
- Catoosa
Cumberland and Morgan Counties
- North Cumberland, specifically the Sundquist and Royal Blue units
Anderson, Campbell, Morgan, and Scott Counties

This planning area covers 219,968 acres managed by TWRA Regions III and IV. The Covered Activities page has detailed information about the activity selection process and background materials. As of March 2010, 45 covered species were being considered for inclusion in the FRHCP. These include seven bats, three birds, six small mammals, three reptiles, five salamanders, seven fish, three crayfish, three mussels, and eight plants. More detail on covered species, including the draft lists, is available on the Covered Species page.
The FRHCP is being developed by a combination of two Core Teams (one each comprised of Region III and Region IV staff), a Steering Committee, a Science Advisory Committee, Species Experts, and the HCP Project Management Team as described here.
HCP Documents
The HCP, NEPA materials, Incidental Take Permit application, and related documents will be posted here are they are approved by the Steering Committee and TWRA.
