Trish Johnson, HCP Forest Resources Science Coordinator

Trish grew up in Southern Indiana and received her undergraduate degree in biology from University of Southern Indiana. Her passion for nature began as a child and she followed this love into a career when she began working as an intern at a local nature center. Trish moved to Tennessee where she received her Master’s degree in biology from Tennessee Technological University. There she conducted her thesis research on exotic species impacts on native species and spent as much time as possible out with other graduate students working in streams and reservoirs across the state of Tennessee. Trish worked as a naturalist at a Nature Center in North Georgia for a few years before returning to the wonderful state of Tennessee. She was an adjunct professor at Nashville State and a research specialist at Tennessee Tech before beginning her work in the non-profit sector at The Nature Conservancy in 2011. While working at Tennessee Tech in 2006, she began work on the HCP. She is proud to have worked on such a rewarding conservation project and looks forward to seeing it succeed. Trish looks forward to continuing her conservation efforts in the state of Tennessee and beyond.
